Thomas P. Marshall
A well-known financial educator, Thomas P. Marshall is President of Virginia Estate and Retirement Planning Advisors, Inc., an independent, fee-based financial planning and investment advisory firm. His expertise is helping retirees and those soon to retire avoid common, costly financial mistakes. Tom has advised over 800 retirees and pre-retirees, including past employees of the U.S. Government, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, DuPont, CSX Corporation, Dominion Resources, Capital One Financial Corporation, and many others. He has been assisting investors for over 20 years.
Tom is the former Chief Investment Officer of Gradient Investments, where he pioneered the use of tactical asset allocation based on economic cycles. Tom has also served as investment manager at Hickory Venture Capital, a $200 million venture capital and private equity fund.
Tom earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt University and graduated with Distinction from the Virginia Military Institute where he was commissioned in the United States Army, Corps of Engineers. Tom is also a graduate of the Venture Capital Institute.
Tom is also an ordained minister and currently serves in an advisory capacity to several overseas charities including Channel of Blessing, a 501(c)3 non-profit, dedicated to Christian education, pastoral training, alleviation of poverty, and women’s rights in India. He is also a member of the Nationwide Gift Planning Advisor Council (NGPAC) for the American Cancer Society. Tom holds a Master of Divinity degree from Virginia Union University.
Tom has lectured widely on financial topics and is a former lecturer at Vanderbilt University and the University of Richmond. He is also the author of “More Retirement Smarts: Plan Well and Retire Well”, an easy to read retirement planning guide available on Amazon.com. Todd Kuimjian, CPA, CFA
An entrepreneurial executive who possesses a unique combination of skill sets that include business strategy, corporate finance, and accounting, Todd’s strong interpersonal skills compliment deep technical expertise. His functional expertise includes risk management, asset allocation, cash flow modeling, forecasting and credit risk measurement. Todd has extensive experience facing clients, consultants and boards of directors as well as handling audit, legal and accounting issues.
Todd earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech and is a CFA® charterholder. Todd is also a Certified Public Accountant and a principal in D’Ambrosia and Kuimjian CPAs, LLP.
B. Praveen Bunyan
As an ordained minister, Praveen brings a unique perspective to Virginia Estate and Retirement Planning Advisors, Inc. After more than 20-years in ministry and countless hours of counseling, Praveen observed that most of life’s problems are caused by the misunderstanding of money among couples. It’s with that knowledge and a keen desire to make sure everyone’s point of view is heard, that Praveen directs client relations. Financial planning is more than just money and Praveen’s position is to make sure clients know what is really important to them during life’s transitions.
Praveen earned his Master of Arts in Public Administration from Madras Christian College, Master of Divinity from Union Biblical Seminary, and his Master of Theology from Biola University in Los Angeles. He has also completed course work for his PhD and is working on his thesis at Westminster Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania.
Praveen and his wife, Veena, have two adult children. Praveen currently divides his time between the U.S. and India serving as the head of Channel of Blessing, a non-profit dedicated to serving the poor in India and Africa.
